Jon’s practice focuses on patent prosecution and counseling clients on intellectual property matters. In addition to preparing and prosecuting patent applications, Jon assists clients with patent portfolio evaluation, development, and management with the goal of maximizing value while containing costs. He provides technical and legal assistance in intellectual property litigation, and performs pre-litigation patent analysis and investigation. Jon also renders opinions of counsel regarding patent infringement and validity. Additionally, Jon prepares and reviews agreements related to intellectual property rights.
Jon’s practice has involved
many types of technology, including semiconductor
fabrication, computer software, programmable
logic devices, TFT displays, solar cells,
truck axles, and computer networking. His
technical background includes computer
modeling of fluid flows (finite elements),
and computer systems and network management.
Jon is a partner of
Campbell Stephenson LLP. Prior
to joining the Firm, Jon’s practice focus
was on enforcement of intellectual property
rights, including litigation and licensing
of all forms of intellectual property rights.
Jon’s litigation
experience includes actions before various
U.S. District Courts, the International
Trade Commission, the Federal Circuit,
and the United States Supreme Court. Through
this patent litigation experience, Jon
has developed a deep understanding of strategies
for maximizing patent portfolio value and
for reducing patent infringement exposure.
Jon
began his legal career practicing in both
the San Jose and Austin offices of Skjerven
Morrill MacPherson LLP.
