Stephen's practice focuses on patent application preparation and prosecution. He has also counseled clients on intellectual property and consumer protection issues. Those matters have included intellectual property aspects of merger and acquisition transactions, software licensing agreements and research contracts. Stephen also has broad experience in the law of consumer protection and privacy in Internet transactions.
The technical areas in which Stephen has prepared and prosecuted patent applications have included semiconductor packaging, microprocessor design, testing and verification software, databases and storage, network equipment and automotive peripherals.
Stephen joined Campbell Stephenson as an associate in 2007. Prior to joining the firm, he served as General Counsel at Smiley Media, an Internet advertising company in Austin, Texas. He began his legal career in the Austin office of Bracewell & Giuliani, LLP, before moving to Dillon & Yudell, LLP. Prior to entering law school, Mr. Mason worked in PBX configuration and competitive intelligence at Nortel Networks in Richardson, Texas.
